 2018 Preview 


       Bob Jones completed the 2017 season with a 7-4 record. With their 6-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 7A region four, the Patriots earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Bob Jones's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Mountain Brook by a score of 23-22.

       As one of the best football programs in the state since 2010, Bob Jones has gone a combined 69-23. Their 75.0% winning percentage ranks 4th in Class 7A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Bob Jones has managed to compile a record of 153-112. Their 58.0% winning percentage ranks 14th in Class 7A and 111st in the AHSAA. Their last losing season was 2006.




       The Patriots are led by head coach Kevin Rose who is entering his tenth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 80-25 over the past nine seasons at Bob Jones. Under his direction the Patriots have qualified for the playoffs a total of nine times. They have won six region crowns with Coach Rose.

       Coach Rose's overall record as a head football coach in sixteen season stands at 123-60 (67.2%). His 123 wins rank 38th among active coaches in the AHSAA. Over the course of his career, Coach Rose's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of fifteen times and won seven region championships.

       The Bob Jones Patriots will play in Class 7A region four during the 2018 season.

       The Patriots should be considered one of the favorites for the region four championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs. The Patriots have successfully qualified for the playoffs every year since 2004 and expect to be included again when November rolls around.

       The Patriots open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Christian Brothers TN on Friday, August 24 at Madison City Schools Stadium.

       Bob Jones and Christian Brothers TN have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Patriots have a 1-1-0 record against Christian Brothers TN. They last met in with

       Bob Jones returns 7A All-State  offensive lineman Colby Murrell. He was named to the second team last season. The Patriots also return  defensive back Jaydon Hill. He was named to the first team.
